Can You Swim?

Overview

Two men, one impossible escape, and a question that probably should have been asked sooner.

Can You Swim? is a short action-comedy built on a deliberately simple contradiction: the stakes are cinematic, but the conversation is absurdly ordinary. Running a wooded trail at golden hour, the pair are cornered at the edge of a long drop — and pause the escape just long enough for one of them to ask whether the other can actually swim. What comes back is a rambling story about a childhood swimming lesson, answered with a flat "good enough for me."

The film plays the action straight and lets the comedy come from timing, character, and the gap between what an action hero is supposed to do and what a real person might actually ask in that moment. It was written, produced and finished in-house, with no client and no brief.
